This is Bryce, the volunteer mayor of Cadillac, Saskatchewan. Chris and I visited the Cadillac Hotel for the Beer Parlor Project on Saturday June 15th. This was the 14th stop on our ongoing project touring small town hotel taverns throughout Western Canada. Our project was delayed a little when the Covid Pandemic broke out, but we got things up and running in the summer of 2022, and we have been travelling ever since.
Our website is now functional, and though we have not yet updated all of the most recent photos, it provides a rather extensive overview of our project thus far... beerparlourproject.com
When Bryce is not farming, he volunteers as the mayor of this small town. The rest of the time he can usually be found occupying his regular seat at the Cadillac Tavern. On this occasion we convinced him to come and sit outside the front door for a portrait.
I shot this on June 15th at about 5:15 in the afternoon. I used my Ebony view camera and a 135mm lens. The film was Ilford HP5. Because we were shooting in daylight, I did not have to push the film and was able to expose it at 320 iso.... which was F14.0 and 1/60 second. Development was in 510 Pyro Developer, 1:100, for 7:25 minutes at 24C.
