This is the image that I selected for the August page of my 2026 David Thompson Country calendar. This is an older shot, from several years ago. I like the contrast in texture between the driftwood and the avens. I shot this on a sheet of Kodak High Speed Infrared film,which is why the avens are glowing white. Living vegetation is highly reflective of infrared wavelengths and this sort of tonality is the result. It doesn't work for everything, but I quite like the effect in this shot.
