April Showers

Today the long suffering Mrs. Pohl celebrates her birthday.  Margarit turns 39 again today...!  I hope to be able to take her out for dinner this evening, and perhaps the girls will join us.
Now five days into the month of April we were looking forward to the arrival of spring.  It seems we are paying the price now for the very mild winter that we enjoyed this year.  As the old saying goes, usually April showers are rain, and are supposed to bring May flowers.  It seems unlikely that snow showers will accomplish that goal.  However, I am grateful for any moisture that we get as we have been experiencing drought conditions and need to see some precipitation, of any form, to alleviate the risk of forest fires this spring.  We do not need a repeat of the extreme fire season that we experienced last year.  Earlier this spring, Southern Alberta experienced a lot more snow that we have had here in Edmonton, and the forecast was calling for a lot more again with this current storm.  Drought conditions in the south were significantly worse than our area, so this is all very welcome.
