On October 13th I gave Margarit a hand and we added a little more epoxy resin to the mold with the pebbles. We had actually used all of the resin we had the first time around, but I ordered another batch. It showed up while I was away in Nordegg.
That first batch shrunk somewhat as it cured and left one of the larger rocks sticking out a little. There was also a patch in the center where the surface was a little uneven. I calculated that about 1.3L of resin would be enough to fill everything properly. This also gave us a little wiggle room for further shrinkage. But, this time around it was not as deep a pour as we only added about 1/4" on top of what we did previously. Hopefully this cures evenly, and without much shrinkage, and a little faster than last time. In a few days we'll be able to take it out of the mold and see what the sides and bottom turned out like.
