The Coal in Alberta show is about to open at the Leighton Art Center. I am in the process of loading up some of the prints and preparing to deliver them to the gallery. I will be taking 18 of the 29 prints and one of my colleagues is going to deliver the remaining 11. There is an opening on Saturday June 18th that I will be attending.
The apple tree in our front yard just finished it's annual display. The tree is getting old and probably will not do this too many more times. About a decade ago one large limb, about a third of the tree, broke off in a wind storm. The main trunk is completely hollow in the middle, but yet the tree lives on. The display is very short lived and this year only lasted a day or two before the wind took all the blossoms away. A few days later the smaller hawthorne in our front yard started to bloom.
The Renegades Hockey Team has been playing the summer season. We didn't start out very well and until our seventh game on June 7th, we had not won. All of the games have been close and our worst loss was by a score of 5-2. Three others were close losses, within 1 or 2 goals. We also had a tie, and an overtime loss. Then we played the Bruins on June 7th at Callingwood Arena. It was a penalty filled game with a lot of rough play. The Bruins are a hot-headed team known for taking a lot of penalties. They had 57 minutes in penalties and four player ejections. The Renegades only had 17 penalty minutes, none to me [this time!] and we won by a score of 4-2. After this game my team, plus three others got moved down into a new division. We will play the remaining nine games of the summer season against these three teams, and hopefully do a little better.
