The View from Above

Chris and Connie and I had landowners permission to access some of the range land up above the Red Deer River Valley.  We drove up to an area above the Atlas Coal Mine and the town of East Coulee.  Here there was an old wood structure that once supported a TV antenna.  A cable was run down to the town and the landowner charged a monthly fee to the residents below.  Apparently there was later a competing operation on the other side of the valley.
We got access to a few other areas that afforded beautiful views of the valley.  We could clearly see not only the East Coulee area, but also the valley around Dorothy, and points in between.  These snapshots really don't do it justice and I hope that some of the large format images that I shot are a little better.
I have also included a snapshot I took in front of the shop on the evening prior to this little adventure.  We were witness to a gorgeous sunset that just illuminated the sky with amazing colors.
