I tried to paint a realistic Maple Leaf, working from a photograph I found on line. I think this is now my tenth watercolor. It turned out OK... but is not realistic enough for my liking. I think I just have to resign to the fact that my color blindness will never allow me to mix realistic colors. Perhaps I should go for the bold and stark look... much like the color film I recently processed. I've included some snapshots below that show the progress on this painting as I worked on it.
