My recovery continues at a snail's pace. I struggle to find new content to post here on my blog. So in the short term, until I can return to creating new work, I will continue to post some older images.
My leg feels much better now that the staples and cast have been removed. I'm sleeping better at night, and slowly but surely things improve day to day. But I still am not permitted to put any weight on my broken leg, for at least the next two to three weeks. It is not easy to bash around in the darkroom on crutches, particularly one that is as cluttered and messy as mine. And my good leg can only support continuous weight for 20 minutes or so before it needs a rest. So, I am beginning to tidy up my work space in preparation for the time that I can start on some projects. But it is only for little bits at a time, and it will be a while before I can get to any serious work. I did manage to get out to our local pub to play trivia last night, and Margarit and I met up with Arturo and his son. Outings such as this are the extent of what I am able to do at this time.
This photograph was taken last June while Chris and I were exploring in southern Saskatchewan. For a number of years now I have been accumulating photographs of old signs. Many of the signs that I have photographed, no longer exist. This one will be added to my collection. Perhaps some day I will do some sort of project with all of these images. Not sure exactly what yet, but I continue to chip away at it, whenever I come across something interesting. As you can see, the neon tubes are long gone from this sign. But the store on which it is mounted still operates. It is in the small town of Mankota and it is is quite some distance from there to the nearest larger center. The locals seem to be supporting the place and it is very well stocked. Margarit and I stopped in and picked up a few supplies when I was on my second Saskatchewan visit, last fall.
