The Renegades finally won a game in the Summer Hockey Season. On June 1st we played a team called the Sea Changers at the Meadows Arena. Their team, like the Renegades, was 0-6 to start the season. We prevailed and managed to skate away with a 7-4 victory.
In the past we have usually started the summer season on a tear, and gone on a winning streak. That often saw us moved up to a higher division, forced to play some stronger teams. This time around we did the opposite, we unintentionally started the season on a losing skid, and did not post a victory until our seventh game. That has now seen us moved down one division, and we will finish the summer season against lesser skilled teams. Not sure how much honor there is in that, but at least the games should be more fun.
