Unfortunately the summer hockey season for my Renegades team came to an early end last night. We were playing the Angry Dragons in the best-of-three first round. The third and deciding game was last night at the Meadows Recreation Center. We were holding a 5-2 lead into the third period but then got into penalty trouble and the game ended up tied. It went to a shootout and we lost the game and the series.
It was kind of mixed blessing I suppose. As much as we would have like to win another championship, we've played a lot of hockey over the last year. There were 30 regular season winter games, about a dozen playoff games, then 18 regular season summer games, followed by this first playoff round. Over 60 games in 48 weeks and I played most of them. Now we get a break for about three weeks and then the next winter season will start over again in early September.
