The Hockey League that my team, the Renegades, plays in was merged with another league at the end of last year. The new league is called The Capital City Rec Hockey League. There are 192 teams and approx. 4000 players playing in this league. Our winter season got underway at the beginning of September. Last night we played our fourth pre-season game. These games don't count in the standings, and the league just reviews the results to set up the divisions. The game last night was at the Glen Allan Recreation Center in Sherwood Park, against a team called the Narwhals. This team is new to us and we have never played against them in the past. We were down by a score of 4-1 near the end of the first period and then rallied with 7 unanswered goals to win the game 8-4. Through our first three games prior to that we have won two and lost one. After one more pre-season game the league will set up the divisional alignments and the regular season will get underway.
