More from the Day Trip

Here are some more snapshots from the daytrip out with Chris and Connie.  At one point we drove down to the banks of the North Saskatchewan River at Desjarlais.  This was once an old ferry crossing and is now a boat launch and campsite.  We found what looked like raccoon tracks in the mud along the river.
We stopped at a number of interesting places including a couple of old churches and cemeteries, and an old school house.  The old school was the same one that I did a watercolor painting of earlier this summer.  Inside one old shed we found a massive clay oven with a structure of wood reinforced with steel.  Must have been used to bake break back in the day...?
After our evening visit and meal of take out food, Chris and Connie headed over to their hotel room.  The next morning we got together and went for a walk down in Blackmud Ravine.  They had to leave by early afternoon for the return drive to Calgary, so this was just a short stroll.
