Summer Hockey Playoffs - Round One Sweep

The Renegades played the second game of our playoff series last week.  Two of our guys were suspended, and a couple couldn't make it, but we managed to get eleven skaters and a goalie out to the rink.  The Edmonton Capital didn't do as well as they also had two guys suspended and only got eight guys out.  What I thought would be a rough physical game turned out to be pretty tame.  It was a close game in the early going... tied 1-1 after the first period and 2-2 after the second.  There were only a handful of minor penalties.  The Capitals ran out of gas in the third period and we managed to punch in six goals.  This included a hat trick scored be one of our forwards in a span of exactly one minute.  With that series now behind us we look forward to a round two matchup starting tomorrow against the first place team, the Itchy Beavers.
