Summer Hockey

Not much rest for the wicked....   The Renegades are still basking in the glow of our winter divisional championship and now summer hockey is upon us.  We played the first game of our summer season at the new Terwillegar Recreation Center.  It was a spirited affair with a lot of intensity.  We played against a much younger team, The Wild, that we played against last summer.  Despite having a backup goalie and a bit of a short bench, we managed to outshoot The Wild by a count of 32-24.  We kept jumping out to a lead, only to have them score another and tie it up.  I guess it was fitting that the game went into overtime.  We managed to bang in a goal with only 8.9 seconds left on the clock in overtime for a 6-5 victory.  A great way to start the season.  We play again right away, on Wednesday.
